Injury, age, and health conditions can cause pain, limit movement, and reduce your overall quality of life. Physical therapy is a specialized medical practice designed to increase your mobility, so you can go back to enjoying the activities you love. It focuses on pain management and the restoration of joint and muscle functions that are limited due to a fall, vehicle accident, sports injury or medical condition. Physical therapy has helped in many cases where medication, surgery, or chiropractic treatments failed.
What is Physical Therapy?
Physical therapy involves a skilled professional using his hands and other implements to release tension and stiffness in your muscles and joints. Patients who participate in physical therapy can expect to see a marked decrease in pain and swelling, as well as improved flexibility, range of motion, strength, balance, coordination, posture, and endurance.
If you suffer from chronic or acute back or joint pain, Chris may use a technique known as manual therapy. In this lesser known chiropractic modality, a practitioner uses only their hands to apply pressure on muscle tissue and to passively manipulate joints in order to improve range of motion and flexibility, release tension in muscles and stiff joints, and relieve pain and inflammation.
What We Believe
The physical, emotional, and psychological well-being of patients are of the highest importance. We strive to ensure each patient lives a happier, healthier, and active life. It is not surprising that our practice has been meeting the needs of patients in the northern Illinois to southern Wisconsin State-line areas for many years.
Our goal is to improve the quality of life of those who trust us to provide the physical therapy and rehabilitative services that help them recover from pain and injury. They know that choosing the right physical therapy practice depends heavily on the knowledge, experience, commitment, and compassion of the physical therapist.
That is why they choose Chris Scott, the Clinical Exercise Physiologist and Licensed Medical Massage Therapist at the helm of this physical therapy practice. Scott has over 20 years of knowledge and experience in physical therapy and sports medicine, with a concentration in medical massage therapy, rehabilitative treatments, and correcting sport injuries.

Myofascial release is a unique technique for alleviating pain and restoring muscle, tissue, and joint functions in patients with conditions such as myofascial pain syndrome, sports injuries, scoliosis, arthritis, Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, neck and back pain, and pelvic problems. Myofascial release involves a hands-on method of applying sustained pressure to the myofascial or connective tissues beneath the skin. It relieves pain and improves muscle and join movements.
This is a non-traditional technique of releasing tightness of the myofascial connective tissues. It uses a technique known as Fascial Stretch Therapy (FST) which is a gentle, safe, and effective method of stretch exercise to treat affected body tissues.
The results are improved flexibility, decompressed joints, less pain, and a reduced risk of further injury. Pain in the back, neck, shoulder, elbow, wrist and hand, sports injuries, and whiplash from auto accidents are common conditions treated with myofascial stretching.
Chris Scott Wellness is the only clinic in the southern Wisconsin & Northern Illinois region with a Power Plate Pro 7 HC.
This innovative machine is used by Olympic athletes to rehabilitate after competition and injury.
Using its proprietary PrecisionWave™ Technology, the Power Plate Pro 7HC is engineered to activate the body’s natural reflexive response to vibration.
You simply stand on the plate and it vibrates in a safe, controlled pattern 25 to 50 times per second (25Hz to 50Hz), creating a feeling similar to riding ocean waves. Because it is vibrating rapidly in three different directions—up and down, side-to-side, and front-to-back—the Power Plate destabilizes the body and promotes a patient’s natural reflexive engagement of soft tissue.
All that vibration adds up to improved circulation, balance, strength, mobility, and improved motor skills in a much shorter time frame than one could expect with traditional methods.
The Power Plate Pro 7HC can provide significant relief to patients suffering with Parkinson’s Disease, Fibromyalgia, Multiple Sclerosis, Rheumatoid Arthritis, Peripheral Neuropathy, Cerebral Palsy, and other neurodegenerative diseases, as well as patients who have sustained traumatic spinal cord injuries.Request an Appointment
